I’m Engaged Now What!?
A Simple "To do" list that will ensure nothing gets left out!
1. Choosing your wedding location - ok, so your getting married! that much is established...but where, first things first..Find the perfect location.
2. The Dress - Choosing your wedding dress can be tricky, this needs the perfect combination of friends and champagne, remember don't invite too many friends and family along... everyone has an opinion, make sure you have the right selection of people to help you decide on your prefect wedding dress, too many cheifs and not enough indians come to mind.
3. Rings - Choosing your ring can take months so start this process early, make sure there is no football game on and that the groom has eaten first, this bodes well for concentration!
4. Flowers - You have chosen the dress now you can accesorize with the perfect bouquet, make sure the flower of choice is in season before you get your heart set on it, roses are usually available all year but if you are after a rare orchid, its best to speak to your florist first.
5. Photography - Choosing the right photographer can be a fine balance, our advice to you is ask the awkward questions first, Prices, Additional Costs, Travel Time, Post Editing Changes, these small costs not often thought of can throw your budget right out!
6. Cars - the popular cars book out early so dont leave it too late...can anyone say Silver Cloud, our number 1 favourite wedding car!
7. Dj or Band ? It's time to make the decision, The hottest DJs (and Bands) can book out up to 12 months in advance, Most DJ's will MC the function too, so you can let your best man off the hook!
8. Honeymoon Sunny Queensland or Bali ? start speaking to your travel agent about destinations around this time, make sure to check on the weather, one of our planners ended up in Thailand in monsoon season, true story!
9. Gift Registry or Wishing Well Maybe Both! it is more common for couples these days to shack up before they say I DO making for a short gift registry list, Wishing wells are becoming quite popular just make sure the card doesn't read "We want the cash" and you should be fine. Most Guests understand that another toaster isn't reasonable anymore.
10. Cake Anyone? choosing the wedding cake is usually left up to the bride with the flavour being left up to the groom, most cake chefs will provide a tasting after you book so make sure the taster "known as the groom" is available for this...a good cake chef will also offer you a tall glass of Milk at the tasting, YUMMO!
11. Decorations - Have you chosen a venue that gives you a free candleabra? Or are you taking the decorating to the next step, your florist may be able to give you some advice on fresh flowers but the list is endless ( we have a fabulous selection of Crystal now from only $18 per table!)
12. Invitations - By now the scene is set, everything is in place and its time to look for the prefect invitations, wedding invitations should give the guests a hint of what is to come..Having a beach wedding? its a little fun to put a pinch of sand in each envelope, it will remind the ladies to think about shoe choice also!
