A Message from the Editor.
I had the pleasure this month of visiting one of the peninsula's hottest
new restaurants, MARQUAY in Hastings, I was told by the locals is the "only" place
to eat! And is unfortunately the town’s best kept secret, on
a sunny Wednesday I visited the local hot spot for lunch to find more
than I expected! Un-paralleled views of Port Phillip Bay, the restaurant
resides bang on the marina.
After a glass of the house white and the Chef's special, grilled fish of the day...I began to realize that this was the perfect place for a beach wedding, directly across from stunning parklands with manicured gardens, the venue has everything a bride (and groom) could ask for. Lisa, the manager and owner is warm, welcoming and ensures a menu to die for. I was also granted access to the restaurants amenities and snapped a couple of great photos!
MARQUAY can be found a little more than 10 minutes from Frankston and should be on any bride to be's list of venues!

further than the Fabulous SHERATON MIRAGE RESORT & SPA, Sea world
Drive Gold Coast, this 5 star luxury hotel boasts, sea views, 3 great
spaces plus a full size ballroom big enough to cater for 1000 guests
(Cocktail Style) complete with chandeliers and grand entrance. The
ever-friendly concierge welcomed us every morning and due to it being
off-season we were luckily enough to be upgraded to a lagoon access
suite complete with full size spa.
And if that's not enough the hotel is attached to the multi award winning Golden Door Spa. Perfect for pre wedding wraps, facials and my favourite hot stone therapy, sure to rid any bride of any pre wedding stress. I was treated to a 80 minute facial, which starts with a change room complete with spa & showers, not only was it relaxing, I fell asleep! This has never happened to me before, I always seem to find myself listening to the opening and closing of doors and chattering of fellow spa goes. This is not the case at The Golden Door, pure luxury ensures that you never hear or see another guest, which was great since I was walking around still half asleep! What a look that must have been.
The hotel its self boasts, 3 restaurants, bar, lagoon swimming pool with swim up bar and is situated a stones throw from the refurbished Marina Mirage, which is home to top end stores such as, Ralph Lauren, Lisa Hoe, Channel, and 5 star restaurant OMEROS BROS which is where we dined most evenings, and if your in the markets the deluxe boats start at $700,000 we spent countless hours figuring out how many chair cover we would need to rent to purchase one of these beauties LOL
